- Why do catalog standards matter?
- Because tags pile up without a system behind them. Sweatshirt, sweat shirt, and hoodie become three tags, your own filters miss stock you carry, and customers can't find things you definitely have.
- What can I put on a list?
- Product types, vendors, tags, and options, plus metafields at product and variant scope. Lock a metafield list to Google's accepted values or to a list you keep yourself.
- What happens when a new value appears?
- It waits in a review queue. Approve it, ignore it, or merge it into a value you already keep. Approve values that clearly fit their field in one batch.
- Do I have to clean up years of tags by hand?
- No. Ask Lio, the catalog agent. It works through your standards in batches. It merges duplicate spellings, groups tag families, and sets allowed values for metafields.
- Can I turn enforcement off while I build the list?
- Yes, and you should. Build the lists first and review what's already in your catalog. Switch enforcement on once the lists match reality. Turning it on early just floods your Fix list.
- Does it check my menus?
- Yes. It reads your storefront menus for two things: collections no menu links to, and menu links that point at a collection Shopify no longer has.
- Why doesn't Atlios fix empty collections for me?
- Because the right fix depends on you. An empty automated collection usually has a rule that matches a tag you stopped using. Edit the rule, fill the collection, or retire it. To delete one, ask Lio.
- Can Atlios suggest new collections?
- Yes. It looks for groups in your tags, product types, and vendors that no collection covers yet. Each suggestion shows its rule and how many products it would hold.
- Where does enrichment get its data?
- From identifiers you already carry. Atlios matches books by ISBN and other products by barcode or model number. Multi-brand stores can add the maker's own website as a source.
